Outfit #62: Just Kickin' It

Dress: H&M (Similar) // Blazer: Thrifted (Similar) // Shoes: Ross (Similar) // Hat: Stolen from my friend Becki (Similar) // Necklace c/o Scarlett Garnet

This outfit has been sitting in my queue for a few days but I've been so busy I haven't had a chance to post it, ahhh! I got this dress a few weeks ago at a second hand shop and I've found many, MANY different ways to style it. I'll be posting a few warddrobe remixes of it in the very near future.
My point: Every girl needs a polka dotted dress.

The necklace I'm wearing is a bullet casing with REAL HORSE HAIR IN IT. If anyone knows me at all, you know how much of a horse fanatic I am, so I'm pretty obsessed with it. Poooonies.

Blog post brought to you by the fact that I've just been listening to 90s rap all morning. So much Notorious B.I.G.

I have a few links to share with you guys!

See you after the weekend, unicorns!

Outfit #61: Meow Meow Meow

Dress c/o Romwe (Similar) // Underskirt/tutu: H&M // Leather Jacket: Love Culture // Belt: Forever21 // Boots: Litas by Jeffrey Campbell // Cat Ears: eBay // Rocket Ship Necklace c/o Eclectic Eccentricity

So I got this delightfully sparkly dress from Romwe AGES ago. I had had my eye on it forever and finally took the plunge, and sadly I wasn't too happy with the quality. It's VERY short on me (hence the underskirt), but then again I am tall. And it's INCREDIBLY, INREDIBLY itchy and painful. The sequins all feel like tiny daggers.

But it's so cute that I have to find a way to make it work >.< Anyone have any suggestions?

Outfit #60: Bunny Tea Time

Dress c/o eShakhti // Leather Jacket: Love Culture // Boots: Litas by Jeffrey Campbell // Hat: H&M // Donut Earrings c/o Zoozim // Teapot Necklace c/o Color Me Kawaii

Ahhh unicorns, these last few days have been ALL over the place for me. I had some business to attend to out of town so I've been popping around on planes for the last few days. I've had very little sleep and there's craters under my eyes but I wanted to get this blog post up before I go take an epic nap!

This entire outfit just delights me to no end. I didn't even mean to, but I ended up making a whimsical, springtime "tea time" theme!

First of all: THE DRESS. I was contacted by this wonderful website called EShakhti. They wanted to see if I would review one of their dresses. A new frock? Of course I agreed! But it wasn't until I began to peruse their website that I found the true awesomeness of this company: THEY MAKE ALL OF THE DRESSES FOR YOUR MEASUREMENTS. What?! As a tall girl with HUGE hips and a tiny waist, this seemed like some sort of godsend to me. SO, after I fell head over heels with this bunny dress (IT'S BUNNIES!!!!), I entered my measurements and customized the length before finally placing my order.

The quality of this dress is amazing. It arrived VERY quickly, it's perfectly tailored to my body, the fabric is high quality and the stitching is incredible. I'm very, very impressed and having a dress tailored to my measurements just made me feel like a rockstar. I REALLY suggest you check it out if - like me - you have "non traditional" body proportions.

And now let's move onto the jewelry. I've been a long time coming making an outfit post with these adorable donut earrings and cute little teapot necklace, but I've worn them a ton and received MANY compliments. I think that tiny food ANYTHING is so cute, so I'm dying over my cute little "tea time" accessories. Both shops have lots of kitschy, kawaii accessories so you should probably go check them out.

Anyway, I'm off to nap for the next ten years. Bye!

Cosplay: Arpakassos (Sakura-con 2013)

Well, this is a thing we do now.

I'm in some serious depression right now. It's been diagnosed as... POST CON DEPRESSION. (badumtsh)

Sakura-con last weekend was amazing. I saw a lot of friends from out of town, did awesome cosplay all three days (My Evil Queen was a WILD success - I can't wait until I get my photoshoot pictures back to post!)

On Sunday my waifu Sarah Hiraki and I decided to dress up like Arpakassos - those adorable little alpaca plushies that are all the rage in Japan right now. We started out with two matching dresses we found for only $10 at Ross. I dyed mine (I was trying to make it mint but it turned out blue - oh well!), and Sarah embroidered the little faces onto them. She also made our adorable ears - that look a bit like Persocom ears (from Chobits!). I'm not complaining - persocoms are adorable.

Then we found matching shoes in different colors at Forever 21, threw on some cute wigs and belts and accessories... and we were suddenly super uguu~ alpacas.

It was really fun. It was a comfy, nice cosplay to wear around on Sunday while we went shopping (best find: Japanese sex art from Stasia Burrington!), and a surprising amount of people stopped us for our photographs and knew what we were. At one point a bizarre man approached us and said "Now do the cat thing!" and we had to pose with our hands in fists on the sides of our cheeks while going "Nyaaaa~". Anime conventions are bizarre. <3

I can't wait to do more super cute cosplay with Sarah, and to see all of you at upcoming cons!

(The amazing Lady Une is my dear friend Sonja)

What about you, unicorns? Did any of you go to Sakura-con? What were your highlights?
